We are happy to welcome back our Sidney Bees after a sunny long weekend. We are starting to see the signs of spring here at Sidney Elementary, including warmer weather and students getting out to our school garden and outdoor classroom. We are grateful to have a new garden bed this spring and we are working to prepare it for some of our student gardeners in the coming weeks.
We continue to adjust and follow Provincial and District COVID safety protocols at Sidney Elementary. We would like to thank our school staff, our parent community and our students for their continued diligence in following our health and safety routines.
As of March 31, the Provincial Health and Safety Guidelines were updated:
School staff and students in grades 4/5 are asked to wear masks at all times when indoors and on the school bus with exceptions listed here https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/education/administration/kindergarten-to-grade-12/safe-caring-orderly/k-12-covid-19-health-safety-guidlines.pdf
K-3 students are encouraged to wear a mask when indoors and on the school bus, but this remains a parent/ student choice at this time.

Thank you to parents for maintaining physical distancing and for considering wearing a mask when on the school grounds for pick up and drop off of students.
