This coming Wednesday, February 24th is widely recognized as Pink Shirt Day across the country and around the world. Pink Shirt Day is now an annual event across Canada. Wearing pink on this special day reminds us to all be kind and to stand up for each other. Our virtue of the month has been kindness and our intermediate leadership students have done a virtual, video announcement each day this month promoting kindness at school and home. In classrooms, students have been writing, reading stories, having discussions, and creating some beautiful artwork around the theme of Kindness as well. Students and staff are asked to dress in pink on Wednesday (shirts, pants, socks, hats, accessories, whatever you've got)! And, although we can't do our traditional "Pink Parade" inside the school due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will do a cohort-based run outside to celebrate and mark the occasion.
