Today staff and students at Sidney took some time to remember and honour members of our Canadian military past and present and celebrate the importance of peace. Although we could not gather together in the gymnasium as we normally would we were able to have a shared, virtual ceremony within each classroom complete with O Canada, The Last Post, and a moment of silence. We have attached pictures of classroom artwork and writing that were shared by each division. Unfortunately we are unable to post the photos and videos containing students faces on the website. Please enjoy the pieces we are able to share attached to this post and ask your child about their experience today. Students and staff will observe Remembrance Day at home on tomorrow's statutory holiday.
