Dear Sidney Families,

This afternoon, you will have received an email from our Superintendent, Dave Eberwein, with details about our Partial Return to In-School Instruction for Saanich Schools.

We would like to provide you with an update from our school as well, so that you know what to expect in the coming days.

Thank you for completing the survey indicating your preference for returning to partial in-school instruction.

Any changes to your family plans, as indicated in the survey, need to be communicated directly to your child’s teacher by 3:00 on Tuesday, May 26, as only those families who indicate that they are returning will be placed in a cohort.

Our school will have students in session for 2 days per week starting on June 1.  The days that students will attend will be either Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday.  Teachers will divide their class groups alphabetically with consideration to our Health and Safety guidelines for school density.

Our School Health and Safety team will continue to establish our safety plan and protocols in preparation for June. Over the course of next week, staff will receive on site safety orientations, parents will receive information regarding health checks, parent access to the school, pick up and drop off and other important information and students will continue with remote learning (May 25-29th).

Your classroom teacher will communicate your child’s specific schedule with you no later than Wednesday, May 27.

Thank you for all of your support,

Jennifer Batallas & Sara Postlethwaite
