This week at Sidney School we have a very exciting new learning tool in our gym. It is the Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada GIANT Floor Map. There is a wealth of information and diversity of stories and voices on this map. All week classes have been coming down with their teachers for learning activities using the map. Our Itinerant Indigenous educational Assistant, Mrs Sheralyn McRae, has also been on hand to be a part of the learning and is a valuable resource to for students and teachers. The map is only on loan to us this week and we would like to invite parents to come in and view it on Friday afternoon between 2:30-3:00. Please be sure to remove your shoes before stepping on the map and mind young children closely as it is a delicate and expensive resource.
