It is with great pleasure that I announce the following new school assignments and administrative changes effective Aug 1, 2018.
School Administration Assignments and Appointments - 2018/2019
Ecole Bayside Middle School
Vice-Principal - Mr. David Mark has been assigned to Bayside Middle School. David is currently at North Saanich Middle School as Vice-Principal.
Brentwood Elementary School
Principal - Ms. Shirley Elm has been assigned as Principal to Brentwood Elementary School. Her most recent appointment was at Parkland Elementary School this past year as Vice-Principal. Shirley has held Principal positions previously in our district.
Cordova Bay Elementary School
Principal - Ms. Mary-Lynn Heron has been assigned to the school as Principal. She was most recently at Keating Elementary School as Principal.
Vice-Principal - Ms. Carolin Meausette has been assigned to Cordova Bay Elem as Vice-Principal. Her current assignment is at Sidney Elementary as Vice-Principal where she has also been an IST teacher.
Ecole Deep Cove Elementary School
Principal - Mr. Steve MacGregor has been appointed as Principal. Steve has been in a term position as Principal at Deep Cove Elementary this past year. Steve has now been converted to a continuing appointment.
Vice-Principal - Ms. Mary Kaercher has been appointed as Vice-Principal. This is a continuing appointment. Mary is currently at Sidney Elementary School as aTeacher-librarian and Music Teacher specialist. She has also previously taught in a regular enrolling classroom at both the elementary and middle school levels.
ILC - Saanichton / Broadmead
Principal - Ms. Wendy Walker has been appointed as Principal at ILC. This is a continuing appointment. Wendy was previously Vice-principal at ILC and currently in a term position as Principal at the school.
Vice-Principal - Mr. Ryan Ellis has been appointed as Vice-Principal at ILC. Ryan was also in his role in a temporary assignment, but has now been converted to a continuing position.
Ecole Keating Elementary School
Principal - Ms. Shelley Hardcastle has been assigned to the school as Principal. Shelley is currently at Brentwood Elementary School as Principal.
North Saanich Middle School
Vice-Principal - Mr. Steve Newlove has been assigned to NSMS as Vice-Principal. Steve is currently at Bayside Middle School as Vice-Principal.
Prospect Lake Elementary
Vice-Principal - Ms. Sat Lail has been re-appointed as Vice-Principal at Prospect Lake. Sat was in the role for the 2017-18 school year in a temporary assignment. Her position is now converted to continuing.
Royal Oak Middle School
Principal - Ms. Karen MacEwan has been appointed to ROMS as Principal. This is a continuing assignment. Karen has most recently been at Ecole Macauley Elementary School in the Victoria School District in the role of Principal. She was previously Vice-Principal at Monterey Middle School also in Victoria. Prior to this Karen was a teacher at both Cordova Bay Elementary and Royal Oak Middle School here in Saanich.
Sidney Elementary School
Vice-Principal - Ms. Sara Postlethwaite has been appointed as Vice-Principal. This is a continuing appointment. Sara was most recently at KELSET Elementary School where she taught in a multi-age, intermediate classroom. Sara has also had teaching experience at North Saanich Middle School.
Please join me in congratulating all of our new appointees as well as the new assignments for many of our current administrators. I am extremely excited for what lies ahead in our district and the exciting administrative team that we have for next year.
