This
is an excellent time of the year to go back to the beginning of your
child's portfolio and talk about the progress they have made this year.
Try to notice specific details about their literacy and math
improvements. Do this with your child. It is especially cool to listen
to samples of them reading and to notice improvements in fluency,
expression and reading strategies.
Look for samples where growth is needed and talk about steps to make this happen.
